Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. Here, you’ll have time to relax, recover from your flight, and attend a pre-climb briefing with your mountain guide. This evening will include a thorough gear check to ensure you’re fully prepared for the trek ahead.

Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Londorossi Gate for registration and then continue to the Lemosho starting point. The trek begins through the lush rainforest, rich with vegetation and possibly sightings of colobus monkeys. After a few hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp where your tents will be set up and dinner served.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

Today’s hike ascends through the forest and gradually transitions into heather and moorland terrain. As you reach the Shira Plateau, you’ll be treated to expansive views of the surrounding valleys. The day ends at Shira 1 Camp, where you’ll settle in for the night amidst panoramic mountain scenery.

Day 4: Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp

This is a shorter acclimatization day as you cross the plateau to reach Shira 2 Camp. You’ll enjoy gentle walking and the option to take a detour to Shira Cathedral for even more stunning views.
